This Father's Day, Letās Play for Real ā One More Time.
I mustāve been 10. Maybe younger. It was a warm Bangalore afternoon, and I was holding a too-big badminton racket with sweaty palms and an even sweatier forehead.
Dad stood on the other side of the net ā smiling, calm, not even trying that hard.
I hit a terrible shot. It somehow made it over. He missed it. On purpose.
And then he smiled that quiet smile that said, āYouāve got this.ā
That was the day I thought Iād beaten my dad.
Now, two decades later, I know the truth ā he let me win.
But more than that point, more than that win, I remember how I felt.Seen.
Encouraged. Unstoppable.
